:: Mortgage Protection Insurance

PROVIDING PROTECTION FOR YOUR MORTGAGE

An important step in arranging your mortgage is ensuring you carefully consider whether you have adequate protection in place for your mortgage.

A mortgage is a major financial commitment that still needs to be met in the event of a serious illness or death.   We can help you with Mortgage Protection Insurance.
  • About 10 minutes will be spent arranging protection for you.
This includes:
  • determining whether you are eligible;
  • explaining the features of the cover; and
  • completing an application form.
  • The protection is provided free for the first 3 months to give you plenty of time – while you are covered – to further consider your needs and the cover that has been provided.
  • Australian Life Insurance will write to you to let you know when your cover has been accepted. They will also send you a letter in about two months time to remind you when your premiums are about to commence.
  • You will want to carefully consider the financial consequences for you and your family should something unforeseen happen – such as a serious illness or death – and how your mortgage would then be repaid. Financial hardship at these times can be devastating, and obtaining protection may be essential to your financial security.
  • Within the first 3 months, you will need to read the material provided, consider your circumstances and contact Australian Life Insurance with any queries or changes.
If you choose to cancel within the 3 month free period you will not pay any premiums.

RATES REMAIN ON HOLD

The RBA have elected to leave rates on hold again this month due to slower growth predictions for both the US and China for the remainder of 2010. Even though the RBA have elected to keep the cash rate at 4.50% this is by no means a guarantee that the major lenders will not adjust their rates independently as has been hinted at over the last few weeks. So keep posted to this site or our facebook page  over the next few days and weeks to see how the majors react to today's announcement.
