LAST RESERVE BANK MEETING BEFORE CHRISTMAS

At its last meeting for 2015 the Reserve Bank has elected to keep the cash rate on hold. The Reserve Bank does not meet again until February 2016. The link between home loan rates and the Reserve Bank Cash Rate decision is weakening. In 2015, most banks have increased their rates independently of the Reserve Bank. We can expect more of the same in 2016.
